Daily 5 - Year 3, Day 165

Today is one of those days where I'm immensely glad that I began counting smiles early in the day.  As the day wore on, it became long, frustrating, and exhausting.  That said, it was the sort of day that reinforces the benefit of recognizing those things in the day for which I'm thankful, or the things that brought me joy, even if they existed amidst some things that frustrated, angered, exhausted, or generally made me batty!

So, today's Daily 5:

  1. a warm bus
  2. a Lectio Divina exercise
  3. An hour set aside for quiet with Jesus as I rode the bus today
  4. pondering and playing with words for later writing
  5. the feeling of hunger (one I didn't experience for years thanks to the havoc of mental health/stress issues on my physical body)
  6. grace from an exam invigilator
  7. passing an important examination (I'm now good to go to give immunizations!)
  8. a good study partner and a comfy place to sit and study
  9. promising myself ice cream as a reward for survival of a very long day
  10. encouraging friends
  11. watching the three daily clips available on Jerry Seinfeld's homepage, and having a reason to laugh
  12. finishing everything I needed before 11pm, even despite my extended school day and late arrival home
  13. a bit of chocolate
  14. some good news on the dedication to making healthier choices front
  15. knowing that tomorrow I can sleep an hour and a half longer than normal, thanks to a slightly later start than usual

Whimsical Wednesday, February 1, 2012

Today's edition of Whimsical Wednesday seems to be three-fold.  There are tasty treats, there are things that made me smile because of their beauty or whimsy, and there are words that are speaking to my heart.  (I might add that as much as the tasty treats appeal, none of them are going to be in my diet any time soonish, as I work to care more fully for my body, and limit my intake of less healthy foods.)  As always, I'd love to know if any of these images stand out to you.
